Dear Band Parents,
The Bake Sale 🍪 and Candygrams🍬 are a very popular and important fundraiser at PCI. With 24 bands performing (including PC and UNC), there will be thousands of hungry participants and spectators on our campus throughout the day looking for a sweet treat! Thus, we are asking for donations of baked goods and candy from you! Proceeds from the Bakesale and Candygrams are 100% profit, so it is essential that we have enough donations.
*****This information is to help you start planning as you do your grocery shopping and/or baking over the next week *******
Baked goods and candy can be dropped off either on 9/23 evening (All-hands meeting) or 9/25 the evening before PCI during setup. You can also drop them off by 9am on 9/26 (the morning of the event). However, we greatly appreciate if the baked goods are dropped off either on 9/23 or 9/25 so that volunteers can organize the baked goods donations in preparation for the bake sale.
- Baked items will be sold at $2-$3 each, so please package your item accordingly so that it is a generous portion. Baked items can be homemade or store bought. Baked items should be NUT FREE to minimize any food allergies.
- Examples of baked items include cookies, brownies, and Rice Krispie treats. There are volunteer slots posted with the different types of baked goods requested in BoosterHub.
- To ensure that we have enough baked goods, we ask that you donate a quantity of 20-25 when you volunteer to bring a baked item.
- Place the baked item (that you believe is valued at $2-$3) in a clear plastic (such as a ziplock bag or small disposable container) and clearly label the baked goods items. Each item must be individually packaged and labelled when you bring your items for donation. You can use a handwritten label or print a label.
- Please also label if it is Gluten Free or Vegan. If it is not labelled as Gluten Free or Vegan, it will be sold as a regular item.
- Please note that if you are making Gluten Free Rice Krispie Treats that Kellogg’s brand cereal is NOT gluten free (it has malt syrup, which is not gluten free).
- We are also asking for donations of bags of candy (about 75-100 pieces of candy per bag) for CANDYGRAMS. Candy should be NUT FREE. Candygrams are small bags of candy that students and parents can purchase and write a handwritten note to fellow students as a way to show appreciation. Please bring the candy to the All-Hands meeting on Wednesday or next Friday at the football game.
Thank you as always for helping make our event such a success!
